President's Message

I am deeply honored for the privilege of assuming the position of the President of the Federation of Ratnagiri Chamber of Commerce and Industries, an organization dedicated to addressing the challenges faced by the entrepreneurs, businessmen, and farmers of our district.

In our pursuit of realizing the ambitious vision set by our esteemed Prime Minister to achieve a 5 trillion-dollar economy, it is imperative that our district takes a leading role. As stakeholders encompassing businessmen, entrepreneurs, investors, and farmers, we must unite to collaborate with the government, influence policy formation, decrease the hinderance from bureaucratic processes, and garner essential local support. Together, we can cultivate an environment conducive to investment, eradicating barriers that have hindered progress in recent years, such as the relocation of manufacturing plants, vacant MIDC plots, and stagnant investment trends.

Entrepreneurs in our district encounter a significant hurdle due to the absence of essential facilities like CETP, incubation centers, logistics parks, e-operator facility, and steam generation centers.

 Furthermore, the expansion of the Mumbai-Goa highway, integration of MIDC areas with the existing railway systems, and the construction of ports for efficient water transportation are vital necessities that remain undeveloped. With collective effort by all the stakeholders, we can work towards a future where these essential facilities are not just aspirations but tangible assets driving our economic prosperity. Ratnagiri district, graced with 180 kilometers of pristine coastline and renowned for its diverse array of fruits, including mango, cashew nuts, coconuts, jackfruits, kokum, karvand, and abundant fish holds immense untapped potential for bolstering the district’s GDP. Moreover, the district’s natural bounty extends beyond its agricultural richness to encompass breathtaking beaches, creeks, sea forts, harbors, hot springs, caves, temples, and other cultural landmarks. Initiatives such as trekking, hiking, forest camps, holiday resorts, bird sanctuaries, wildlife safaris, recreational activities, tourism festivals, cultural events, water sports facilities, backwater tourism, museums, and sanctuaries can further enhance our district’s appeal to visitors. Despite these abundant opportunities for tourism, industry, and employment, their full potential has yet to be realized. So, let us stand united in our commitment to harnessing Ratnagiri’s abundant resources and untapped potential. Together, we will forge a future of prosperity, innovation, and sustainable growth for our beloved district.
